Interesting anecdote: Way back when, I was setting up to race a guy on Mansville when we saw headlights coming the other way. Place was smokey from the burnout but neither of us launched. Good thing too as it was a Carson Sheriff. He passed us. The Elky I was gonna race was in the curb lane so he pulls into a lot. I motored along at 20 or so and the cop flips a U-turn, hits the lights and siren and pulls up behind me. I pull over. He comes up to the car and tells me that he knew we were going to race but he didn't catch us so he couldn't bust me for that but he had to give me a ticket for something. Well, no front plate so I got that one. Here's the kicker: He also gave me a ticket for illegal parking cuz I was stopped in the outside lane when he 1st passed us. I can laugh about it now

It's no secret, they will just find out through someone else. What do you mean by rolled up? He got towed?

Going south past Manchester there is an onramp that you make a left onto, it swings right then goes down to the freeway level. We'd block this off for people wanting to get on the fwy (usually not a problem as this was late). It goes straight almost all the way to Imperial (about 1 mile) then merges with the fwy. We'd get off at Imperial then return to the spot we met at. There is a pedestrian overpass that everybody used to stand on and watch the cars pass underneath. 1st car to the ped overpass wins. BTW: This was back in the late 70's early 80's.

Too many curves, you will need suspension for sure. It's mild at low speeds, but a low 12 high 11 second car is in trouble... and did I mention

The run down is at least 1/2 mile long. Go check it out. I'm suprised nobody goes there anymore. I had a 68 Nova that ran mid 12's and it was no problem - and it had 4-wheel drum brakes!

Think about it, it's perfect for a street car. We'd run trailered cars behind the airport or go down to Santa Fe & Del Amo.
