Not that far east. I'm from Chicago, been in this inferno a little over 4 years now.

 

Stage 2 cirrhosis caused by having Hep C for the last 31 years. I start treatment this August. It's either that or die in 5 years. Sort of explains why I ran for Prez of the AZFBA and why I'm trying to get this together for this Sat. never done anything like this before. Figured I'd step it up and if I go, go out with a bang (kind of anyway). Hell, I'm doing a lot of things I never tried before just for the experience.

I'm afraid of the doctor, i'd just deal with it...

 

But doesn't it make you feel good to know that you couldn't do any worse than the last guy....? I dont think you've done a bad job in the position Jim, but the difficulties you've run into all stem from the same thing...

The club as a whole is a great idea. Its the half dozen or so fucktard board members/mods/etc. that have done a great job of ******* it up over the past 4 years for everyone else. I was a small contributing factor to the problem a few years ago, but I walked away a long time ago from the drama and it still ensues...from the same people who've been contributing to it since day #1.

Treatment. It involves me giving myself a shot 1 time a week (and I'm scared shitless of needles). What bothers me are the potential side effects: Hair loss (and I've got waist length hair), makes you feel like you've got the flu, potential emotional side effects - but then again I've talked to folks who had no adverse effects.

FYI: This stuff (Interferon) is what they give Cancer and AID's patients. Are we scared yet? I know I am. I've put this off about as long as I can. With only a 40% chance of success I just might be fucked. Time will tell.
