01 SS problem please help!!!
01 SS problem please help!!! Here is the laydown... i own a 2001 a4 SS. When the car kicksdown into second gear (when trying to get on a freeway or pass a car n such) everything is fine until it goes to shift into third. Once the vehicle shift into third it falls on its face, no check engine lights, nothing comes up with a scanner, it is really weird. If u floor the vehicle from a dig all is well. It will shift and perform through every gear flaswlessly until u let off. It is only when up shifting from a kick down back into third. The vehicle feels as if all of a sudden u have let off the throttle and wants to go no where. If i back pedal on it a couple times it suddenly wakes up and kicks back into the power.... This whole situation leaves me puzzled 
The car is bone stock with only a lid and a k&n... i have tried cleaning my
MAF thinking that could be a problem, as well as the entire air intake sysltem.
I have also changed the inline fuel filter thinking it may have been plugged still no results.
Has anyone ever heard of this problem or had a simmular encounter

well on my old 3rd gen 700r4 transmission i pretty much had the same issues and i had to end up rebuilding my trans. when i took it apart all my disc were tore up thats probaly what your going to have to do.and if you have the money its a good excuse to get a higher stall anyways 
It sounds like a trans issue or a torque management issue. If the trans is running hot it could be bumping into hot trans tables as well. Need more info. A scan with engine temp, trans temp, both front o2's, timing, knock retard, rpm, both lt trims and air temp.

sounds like a trans issue to me too. could be shifting up into overdrive prematurely. if the trans was just rebuilt have you taken it back to them. the only other thing i could thing of is if one of your spark plugs is fouled or not firing and you have power when it revs but none when you are not revving that high. i think in that case you would be able to tell it was missing let alone i am sure it would throw codes.

its not a trans issue i know that for sure. It does go firmly into third. I belive i am going to look into this torque management and see if it is pulling timing out of it.... That has been the closest description to what it feels like.... is this scanner a dealer only tool or can i hit up a couple mechanics locally that would have access to this kind of scanner???
