I got a "fix-it-ticket" for my muffler being too loud. Cop asked what type it was and I said Master Power T-70 series. Could hardly keep my self from laughing. I went to the court house where a cop came out to my car and asked me to start it, and rev it to 2000rpm. He then asked what I did and, I said I put it back to stock. He signed the ticket, I paid $15. End of story, I never fixed or changed anything. First Cop=Dick Second Cop=Awesome

it can be 96 db but no higher. this happened to me when we were all racing by ryne's place and i got pulled over. my car was just bolt ons with a magnaflow catback and I was 106 db i think. anyways the ref passed me cuz he liked my car. if ya want that ref shoot me a pm....

oh yea he never popped my hood or anything, never looked for cats, just pulled out the tester and signed off my ticket. oh yea they test at a whopping 3500 rpm so good luck

Hey guys, I've been reading your thread and you actually get pulled over for being too loud? I've heard of people with open headers get pulled over, but somebody with a magnaflow? shitty. I live in poway and have a b&b with a cam and it is pretty deep, never had problems, knock on wood. anyway, didnt' mean to hijack, catch you guys around sometime.

I got one about six years ago in my 78 sbc, changed nothing and paid the ticket. It was less than a hundred bucks.

thanks for all the posts guys. I'm pretty sure they will just sign it off. The car is in my shop in Oklahoma now so they are **** outta luck on testing me. As far as it being loud, yeah it is so I didn't argue with him because I didn't want him to look under it and ask if the cats fell off and cut outs magically replaced them. haha After I go back to Cali to move my stuff back wednesday, I'll get that ticket signed off and I'll make a vid of that burnout you all suggested.

I got the same ticket and I wound up just paying the $118 fine because there is no way in hell my car would pass noise dec. test. Now I just avoid the cops as best as I can. A few months ago a cop started following me in a residential area so I just pulled into some strangers driveway, cut the engine, got out of the car as if it was my house and when the cop pulled away I left. I just dont want to pay that stupid *** fine again.
