ok, i thought this was other then AZ cause i know in Phx, Tempe, and most other suburbs of phx make you appear in front of a judge to request an extension. i needed an extension a while back from a violation in phx, and i had to appear STILL in front of the judge to request.

My record is clean as a whistle. I did this 6 times already I found out about the declaration when I got pulled over on the grapevine going 110mph on a 55mph zone but the cop wrote 80mph on the ticket because it was considered reckless driving. Anyways it was too far to go to court so they told me I can write that letter. I did it and got away with it and have been doing it ever since. Trust me the officer will never write back especially if he can't remember what happened. If he does write back and you lose you can re open it three times before it is completely closed. Trust me they won’t bother with it. STAY AWAY FROM THE GRAPEVINE!!

i thought 25mph over was reckless driving, and 35 mph over was a felony (i.e. going 100mph on a 65mph freeway).or is reckless driving a felony? ahhhh my brain hurts!

What about mistakes?

I have heard many times that if a cop makes a mistake writing up a ticket that you can use that to get off.

My wife got a ticket and the cop checked the time as 8pm when it was 8am

Is there any validity to that and how would you proove something like that?

Since the tickets are numbered I am guessing that the ticket in numerical order before and after would confirm his mistake.

Its funny, last monday I was in the court room fighting for my ticket actual that was my trial date. Court full of people and about 13 officers from all different cities around our town except for that officer that full me over couple months ago. My case was dismissed cause that damned cop did'nt show up. LOL

No, actually, it would be reckless endangerment (subject to whatever statutes are applicable in whatever jurisdiction you're in)...

"Wreckless" (not actually a word) would simply mean that you haven't wrinkled any sheetmetal...
