Default Gas Thieves!!!

So this morning, I jump in my truck and I noticed that the gas cap to my car (which was parked in front of my truck) was just hanging there. I went and closed it and I found a small 3 inch blade knife laying on the hatchback. I dont know if they took any gas cause I had to get to work. But what I want to know is how easy is it to syphon gas out of my car and what can I do to prevent it?

im pretty sure there's a screen there for most cars so it cant be syphoned out. although maybe if there's a good poke it will break?

It's actually pretty easy to syphon gas outta your tank. I was actually thinking of this last nightas a used a gas can to put gas in my car. (it was like 2am)
"I just thought how easy would it be for someone to steal gas or try to put something unwelcome into my tank?" So i decided to get a locking cap.

It was close enough to empty. I think all they got at most is a gallon. I'll check how much they got when I get home.

Thats one of the reasons I have a locking gas cap. Good choice on getting one. You never know how desperate some people can get or how crazy they can get by pouring something else into the tank.

I'm going to invent a bukkake filter so when gas is siphoned, they get a surprise...

Well I got home and check the fuel level. It's about the same. Which makes me think that they just couldn't get pass the neck or they put somthing in. Either way, the locking cap is on.

With a motor like yours I'd be cautious.

More then likely it was some haters putting **** in. I would drain your gas tank and refill. Someone poured sugar in my old camaro when they got pissed over a parking spot. Just wish someone would make a locking gas cap that can't be opened in two seconds by almost anyone.
