great just moved here from CA hoping to get away from some of this... getting LT's and ORY installed as well....
it's one thing to pass/fail emissions, but it's another to just get more money outa people i.e. the visual inspection...
The visual inspection should be tossed out the window. If a car passes the sniffer, that should be good enough PERIOD!

I have no idea what CA has so I can not compare. 96 and later is plug in check only. They are supposed to do a visual but I have never seen them do one. I know of people that have gone threw with no CATs and passed the pug in check even with the CAT program removed from the comp. I even passed with my 96 Impala, heads, cam, headers, no CATs, Cat program removed. I am sure there will be some changes in the future. We will just have to keep a look out.

I live in Surprise... 85374
When I first moved here I went and got it smogged... wasn't really paying attention but was in and out in like 5 minutes... i'm guessing they just checked the codes...
seeing as i'm getting a 224 cam, LT's, ORY, BBK Manifold, and BBK TB soon i'm hoping I won't run into any issues.... CMS is doing the tune so I should be fine as far as that goes...

Wow. I was told by a buddy of mine that used to work at the DMV the info I posted before. I had a 86333 zip code for a while for my '70 so I didn't have to deal with it anymore. I got tired of putting my cats on every year to pass. I had them flanged so it wasn't too bad but not as easy as having to do nothing. Oh well, I tried to contribute.
