Default which cam

Ok i'm looking to buy a cam this week. I'm not sure which to go. I've made a few calls to texas speed, lmp, thunder, mti. Kind of up in the air what to get. I told them my goals for the car and my mods etc. Right now the car has a tight 3k stall, 3.23's, true duals. I'm looking to do cam only and spray the car with a 125 wet shot (tnt f1 kit). For now i'm just going to run cam only until i get my tax return check then thats when the spray will come in.
So which cam
237/242 .603/.609 112 lsa (ms3)
239/242 .649/.609 112 lsa (ms4)
232/234 .595/.598 112 lsa (torquer 2)
230/236 .592/.602 112 lsa(thunder racing cam)
234/242 .600/.610 112 lsa (g5x3)
230/227 .591/.571 112 lsa (mti x1)
228/232 .588/.575 112 lsa (mti g1)
232-234-112lsa+0 xer lobes (not sure of lift)
232/234 .598/.610 112 lsa

The mti cams are on sale for 600 for the cam springs and pushrods till the end of the week. I like the mti x1, but thinking the reverse split might hurt on spray but then again a 125 shot isnt a huge shot. texas recommended a ms3, lmp recommended the g5x3, mti recommened the x1 or the g1 he said x1 would be a little more torquey. the ms4 i threw in cause i can get a sick deal on from a friend, and torquer 2 i kind of like the specs on so threw it in there.

Personally, I would think you'd be over-camming on some of those, but that's just me.

If I changed mine I'd go with 228/232 on x-er, 112, no advance ground in, adjustable timing set, get someone who knows what they're doing to install/tune it.

I have a slightly higher rpm stall speed than you, and taller gears.

i have a LG g5x1 which is a 228/232 .588 .574 lift on 114lsa and i'm completely satisfied with it... unfortunately i have no numbers for you but it still gets great gas milage for city driving and has great drivability even on stock tune. only time it bucks and surges is when it's cold.

i have a video of it somewhere around here i'll try and find for you that has a good sound clip of the lope, most people don't believe it's only a 114lsa

It's not a torquer2, it's a COMP part# 54-446-11 which is a off the shelf XE-R grind.... Good cam, COMP really did their homework...
Here is a link to their catolog:
http://www.compcams.com/technical/Ca...07/172-175.pdf
I was with Chad when Ryne suggested it would be a good cam for his set-up...

I believe that CMS stocks a couple of different grinds, all COMP.... Maybe he has that part# ready to ship....

i can get you anything you need, majority if not all of the cams you have listed are comp cams, just custom specs per the shops liking, as well as i can do the same. personally for a automatic car i would run a 228-232 on a 112+2 drives nice, has alot of mid range , and good top end as well. but it all depends how you like your car to drive.

I don't who makes TSP's cam or if they change some things around...
Either way, both cams seem to working for everybody! Both great choices in my opinion...

the torquer 2 is a comp cam, and therefore identical to the comp off the shelf grind, right down to the lobe numbers

why does there have to be so many cams. Would be nice to make 400 hp but rather have a track proven cam. I've seen poeple dyno 380 hp etc and in the 1/8 still run 85 mph. I dont get it my car over that already in teh 1/8th. It's like i should just pick eny meany miney moe and then set the car up for that cam
