Pep boys engine hoist? So they are having a special on engine hoist, its some company got Torin big red jacks. Anyways its legs are fold away short length will hold 2 tons farthest will hold 1/2 ton. Was just wondering if these are any good because they are pretty cheap so I was just wondering if I should just buy one or just shell out the extra cash for some name brand stuff.

I'll check harbor freight, I'm always weary of buying critical parts like that at big discount prices because I don't know how good the quality is so just wanted to see if anyone on here had one.

I've used the Harbor Freight hoist, and they are not bad at all. I used it to remove and reinstall a 454 big block in my Chevelle, and there were no problems.
A friend has had his for many years, and just recently had to replace, I believe, an O ring on the ram. But he has used his a lot, and everyone borrows his, so it's seen some tought times. When it's not used, it sits outside.
