Default AZ Highway Patrol

so as i was driving through AZ on my way to CA, i got pulled over by a highway patrolman. he said my tint was too dark for az laws (mine's 15 he said 35 was limit) and my tag was expired. now my tag has the date i bought the car on it, cuz it's a dealer tag, and he tried to tell me it was expired, when right below the date it says (month bought, day bought, year bought). so he gave me a warning for the tag, and a repair order for my tint.

since i was only driving though the state and not going to return, will i get **** later on if i don't fix my tint and have them check into it? my car is registered in Oklahoma by the way. im not going to fix my tint unless CHP gives me an actual ticket, because i'll see them a lot.

I always though its funny how other stats have a different acronym for their highway patrol.

Like in California its CHP, but in Arizona its AHP. I cant imagine saying anything but CHP and it sounding correct.

What about like Kentucky? Yeah man, I got pulled over by the KHP today

Sounds like one of those BS tickets/pullovers because you have out-of-state plates. I'd call the court and ask how to proceed (is the tint legal in OK?). I don't know what happens in AZ if you ignore a work order, but you would hate to have something lingering over you every time you entered that state.

lol, our Highway Patrol is known as DPS

and thats funny that you got pulled for tint, ive never had a problem with that here in phx or on the highway with any DPS, and mines tinted at 5% all around. here in az you can have any darkness on the back windows but i believe up front has to be 35% but even then, they arent as **** about it around here as other states are. maybe it was just that officer and he was mad bored?

it must have been him cuz i passed 5 other highway patrols and nobody pulled me over. my front tint is 15 but still. they should be able to read the driver's license, noticing the part up top that says in big letters OKLAHOMA and tell me, "have a nice day"

it just boggles my mind because before and after him, i had actually pulled up next to a highway patrol at like a rest stop and stuff. windows were up and all, never said a word.

it'll be great if i ask them to just drop it, (even if it is just a warning) and drop the repair order, and they say no you have to fix it and come to AZ to get it inspected.

ok so i just looked at my ticket again, and at the bottom it says the following:

"If you have received a Repair Order, the Certification of Correction or Adjustment of Illegal or faulty equipment MUSTbe mailed to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, P.O. Box 18470, Phoenix, AZ 85005-8470 within five (5) days..

right below that there is a place to sign, and it says this:

"Certification of Adjustment: I certify that the equipment on the motor vehicle described herein indicated has been tested and/or adjusted, and that upon this date complies with the requirements of the motor vehicle laws of Arizona."

does this mean since i didn't turn that little nuisance of a ticket in last week (got the ticket on jan 6th) i'm in some deep ****?
