As for true duals, someone go get smogged and post the results...
Right, but were saying the fact that they dont care, and what the law says is not the same.

I give up. This is how false rumors get perpetuated. Not to mention your examples are absolutely ridiculous.

Yea I guess the retired police officer of 30 years who lives next door to me starts rumors.
Here check this out, good info. http://public.findlaw.com/traffic-ti...ification.html

Cops HATE tinting because they aren't able to see what's inside. But that's what fix-it tickets are for. It's a free chance to return the part back to way it was.

Maybe you should have him post up since he doesn't know his *** from a hole in the ground if he believes "the law states anything done to modified a stock vehicle is illegal".

Other than that, the link you provided is very general, first sentence says "under traffic laws in most states..."

Next thing that EX-cop will say is the sticker that says my daughter made the honor roll is illegal.

First off, the langauge doesn't make you any cooler... And here, if you can't understand this then I don't know what else to tell you. And this is CALIFORNIA CODE.

Transparent Materials
26708.5. (a) No person shall place, install, affix, or apply any transparent material upon the windshield, or side or rear windows, of any motor vehicle if the material alters the color or reduces the light transmittance of the windshield or side or rear windows
Amended Sec. 2, Ch. 476, Stats. 1998. Effective January 1, 1999.

Wow, and I thought using the word "***" would have made me cooooool. Let's see what you're proving to me that I have a hard time understanding...

You quote a VC that has nothing to do with what I called you out on. You said "the law states anything done to modified a stock vehicle is illegal", which is absolute BS. You have yet to prove it.

Your first attempt was your 30yr. vet of the police force neighbor, so anything he said to you could have been lost in translation, or taken out of context. Your second attempt was some website that made a very general statement.

I gave an example of a bumper sticker, and you quote the VC for tint?!?!

C'mon dude, prove your first asinine statement or admit it's wrong.

I never said anything about bumper stickers, but I can see where the confusion was. IF, and I say IF, the bumper sticker was on your back window then a cop would somehow get you for obstruction of view, if he felt like it. Basically, what I ment to say, is the law is so general as to what a mod is that is just gives them any reason to pull someone over. Look we can argue about this for days with "what if" scenarios. Why don't we forget about this whole thing and argue about something more important.. like the best looking color for a Camaro. I say pewter.

For me, Pewter is a close second to SOM.

Start a poll.

From my interpretation, it CAN be modified and made louder, so long as it doesn't exceed the noise limit.
Ah I see.

I read most of the posts..Seems like a lot of extremes here..Aftermarket shift ****? Is this 4 real? I think I sould be very afraid to go to a car show anymore with my 15lb Nitrous Bottle in the trunk in plain view.. So a smog tech is going to know you have an aftermarket muffler?

You can have aftermarket shorty headers that flow better, like edelbrock or hookers. Stay LEGAL by NOT getting mid headers or Long Tube headers. Maybe you can have low restrictive aftermarket cats like the ones from SLP, maybe? I dont know i will try it unless one of you says it wont work legally, after that you can have whatever you want but the car has to idle less or equal to 95 decibel(dB)*. I have long tubes and will change in and out when getting the State ONLY emissions test, I have been with the car for 2 years. First year no emissions and second year regular smog test. Can someone tell me when the CA state only emissions test come? like in another two years or next year for me, depends?
