LMAO...only base 3rd gens came with the L03 305 TBI motor. Such as the Firebird, and the Camaro RS. TBI was never offered in the Z28 or Trans Am/GTA.
It was offered in the IROC-Z as a base engine in the eighties, but GM put a stop to that by the 90's.

Your car is a Trans Am. Even your dash says Trans Am!
This is a GTA dash:
Maybe you should do your homework:

Not trying to be a ********. These are just the facts. Personally I like look the Trans Am anyways, I like the fender vents. The GTA does not have them. Good luck with the sale and hopefully it will go to a good home.

I have that dash aswell I put the other one on from a car at pick your parts because it was bigger and it could hold all my docs.
Thanks for looking it up Alex

how come on Ebay you dont state its a GTA ?
heres why i said it wasnt a GTA
1. No Gta badges
2. no firebird badges on the rear sail panel
3. doesnt say pontiac in gold on the headlight
plus it says Trans Am !!
does it have the RPO Code Y84 ?

In addition to these facts Mike stated, This vehicle for sale has T/A fenders as seen by the hot air extractors on the front fenders. GTA's had firebird fenders that NEVER had those like T/A's did. Search all you want and cite every source you can find. You absolutely will NOT be able to dispute this.
Oh and I wouldn't use 3rd party sources like Carfax and the like for authentication as they group models together for convenience.
SoCal I'm not trying to bash your sale, I wish you the best of luck really. It's just that a true GTA owner will recognize these faults and you will be to blame for incorrectly advertising as such. If I was coming to see this car without checking out those pics, I'd call you out on it. It flat out isn't a true GTA.
Yes GTA's did have 305's. And if you smoked one with a 350 it was driver error. I owned 2 89's so yes I do happen to know for sure.

If you don't know what the Y84 RPO code is, then maybe you are the one that needs to be educated!
I NEVER said GTAs did not have 305 engines. Learn to read. I did say that GTAs were never outfitted with throttle body injection. Apparently Carfax thinks so lol
Show us the RPO sheet for your car. That will put all of this discussion to an end. If your RPO sheet shows the "Y84" digits, then your car is in fact an authentic GTA
It is either located in your front center console or in the rear "lockable" console in the hatch area of your car. Since your car is an 89, I'd guess it's in your center console. The later 3rd gens (91-92) had them in the rear lockable console typically.

Double the money? Seriously? You think you have the ONLY incorrectly built GTA? Believe it or not, you don't.

The fenders are the big thing. I had an 1989 GTA with a 305 and a 5 speed. It had the badges, base model fenders, an aussie (3.45?) rear end, and I think some other little differences.

Your engine digit (8th digit in the vin number) is F, which is the code for TPI. I believe someone mentioned that this car was TBI? Anyways, F is the code for TPI unless Im being forgetful. Hopefully that solves one issue here ;-)
