Speed Density tuners in so. cal...... who tunes a speed density style car in so. cal????? I have a 93 Camaro that needs a re-tune....after 6 speed swap and long tubes.... running a little rich.... any info will be helpful.

you dont need a large cam or turbo, its a general the fact that they run better with a sd tune. Sd is just another way to calculate air charge coming into the engine, doesnt necessarly mean its better or worse then a maf just different ways of coming to the same result.

Yes, they are both just different ways of calculation, but there are advantages to be had from a SD tune on particular types of setups. Thats something that i would consider "better"
sommer86 - Ryne tunes the car on the dyno and the street, youre right, sometime the car's dont act quite the same on the dyno as they do the street because of the differences in load. Ryne's particular type of dyno really helps to overcome this, but he still takes the car out on the street to verify. Once you get a big cam, or turbo then you will want a speed density tune.

well on more radical combinations like lets say big cam cars, you eliminate the reverison going out past the maf sensor, coming from the motor do to the cams overlap. a probably tune sd car will fuel exactly to what motor needs. but there one issue is obviously smog (you need the maf to pass smog) which might a non issue anyways with a large cam car. and it cant make as much adjusts itself, as the maf car can. generally i tell customers if the car is mild in performance parts, just run it with the maf, if you have a more radical combination then go speed density
