He does!!

Ok guys. So i just left his shop. Real cool guy!! He can do each wheel for $60 (which is pretty good). He said he'd even do one wheel at a time if you needed him too.

He showed me his shop (HUGE and hot) and an example of the gloss black, which is what i'm interested in, and it looked sssssoooooo good!! The rim he had done really shined, and only had sandblasting done to them. (he will sandblast your wheels for you as part of the cleaning process, unless they're aluminum, then they get hand sanded).

He can't do plastic or 2 tone jobs. If you do want something masked off like a design in the spoke, he's got high temp tape that you can mask stuff off with that can withstand his GIANT oven temp.

He even said he can do a 24 hr. turnaround.

I'm taking my first wheel to him tomorrow!!

pics soon!!

-KING

Oh, he said he doesn't do polishing either, sorry guys!!

ok, fellas...here's how his powder coating looks!! It's an amazing job!

I just pulled the tire off the wheel and gave it to him. He roughed them up, heated them, hand sanded them down, then powder coated them and baked them!!

the gloss black looks so good!! like I said, he's a real nice guy, and also told me that if I get him the wheel first thing in the morning, then he can turn it around THAT late afternoon/early evening for me!!!

Oh, he even took care of the little curb rash that the wheels had!!

If you guys are coming out to Bob's tonight, you can check out his work in person.

I LOVE 'EM!!

^^ not curb rash, just got finger prints all over it. I know, i need the wheels shined up a bit....

Only black? Can he do Blue somehow? I think my 98 would look good with blue rims like my 30th T/A..They would be the 17" WS.6 Polished wheels if he could do it.

Yup. I like just stated to Raptor, he's got tons of colors. He might even have other shades of blue you might like.

Yes you do need to take the tires off the rim. The items that get powder coated go through a giant oven after they get coated, and the oven is at about 375 degrees. Anything getting powder coated goes through an oven....thats how the powder turns to "the paint look", except that powder coat is more durable.

No, he doesn't do any of the removal work. He just does the powder coating.

I have a friend at a local tire shop in Burbank (like 10 mins from thew powder coater) who can probably hook you guys all up for a decent price. (on my car he took off the tire, remounted it, and balanced it with stick on weights....it looks clean!!)

Ask for Joe
So-Cal Tire Pros
818-845-8473

Tell Joe that Mike Sommer with the red Camaro sent you (you might get a better price)

Pewter might look bad *** on a pewter car. I've never seen it, so you'd definately be the first to do it....
