*sigh* Misinformation, and no you don't have a buddy that signs it off. It has been the law since 01/04, read the sub-sections of 27150.2 and 27150.7 CVC.

It actually can be signed off by the Ref station with the Certificate of Compliance, although it is just easier to pay the fine and move on... Especially if you have LT's or other non-smogable equipment...

yeah but im pretty lucky, i have had the setup for 1 year now and its the first time i have ever been pulled over, before that i had a true dual setup, so the way i see it is its just some stupid come who had nothing better to do.
