I'm Notsure If You Can Braize It, But You Can Weld Aluminum. It Takes A Special Machine To Do It, I Mean We Do It Where I Work, But I Can't Really Help You There, Ill Get Fired If I Try To Help You, Ill Ask Around A Couple Of The Welders That Work There.

Yes you can gas weld aluminum, but why would you want to? Have it Tig (heli-arc) welded and call it a day, gas welding is pretty out of date(time comsuming) for most tasks and if your not careful you can ruin your work or weaken it greatly. Any good fab shop or sheetmetal shop should be able to do what you need as they will have the correct welder. BTW a spool gun is OK if you just need it welded and dont care how it looks, but if you want it done right and looking good (whatever it is) tig is how you need to go about it......

Wow, that does look nice for wire fed! I have a spool gun for my Miller 185, but I've never had much luck with welding aluminum. I've tried pre-heating the parts, cranking the current way up, etc. I've also tried pure argon & argon+co2 for shielding gasses, and that didn't seem to make a difference. Would you mind sharing your technique? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

well when i was working with that material pictured above, i used a 4043 alloy, and a 75% argon to 25% helium.

basically prepped the hell out of every edge welded, by beveling it and meticulously cleaning with alcohol during the whole process. also used the push method while welding.

hope this helps, wish i could help you more, but most of my experience comes with working with my former boss, an amazing jack of trades, he learned aluminum welding in the air force long ago, and sticks to what works, this is what i was taught.

Cool, thanks... I haven't tried that combination of shielding gas, but maybe it would help. I'll break out the spool gun one of these days and give it another try!
