A cop isnt going to give you a ticket unless you are doing something wrong. While alot of us are guilty of "stoplight racing" not all of us participate in street races which is what the police are trying to crack down on.I think it is very sneeky of them to turn vehicles that they have aquired in raids into chase vehicles but an officer in a car can not rev at you or instigate the race because that is entrapment. We all need to just be carefull who we race and even report on here if you have seen or know of such a car in the area.

A few month ago. A few of us went out on a freeway late at night. I about to line up with a mustang. we honked 3x and as We took off. we see a mini van on the fast lane that had cop lights. It was a normal under cover van. they turned the lights on us as soon as we went. Scaredthe **** out of me.I slowed down and they went after a mob of imports that were ahead of us.I must had shitted my pants that day.

Good luck with that defense bro, i suggest you look up the definition of entrapment, entrapment is a defense you can use in court, but all entrapment is that if you do something you normally wouldnt do under constant or extreme pressure from a cop. Reving his engine at you would probably not constitute entrapment.

Bottom line here is if you dont street race they wont catch you, yes drunks get into accidents but exactly how do you expect the PD to combat drunk driving besides the usual methods they do, are you saying that because street racing only kills people some of the time that they shouldnt take pro-active measures to prevent and enforce law breakers? Thats just retarded.

I like your thinking.

And don't race a fat middle-aged white guy who can barely fit in the car.

Gas prices are high, so now they are driving around Cobras and **** 24hrs a day?

Isnt that kind of like entrapment, to provoke a race and then say "hey Im a cop give me the keys to your car now!"

Houston has Motorola, and helicopters....no SVT Cobra, or 350Z crime fighting machines..

If you have to street rece make sure the person will roll their window down when you tell them 3 honks so you can look at them. The cops will still be in uniform.

im sure the windows will be tinted and they will not roll them down, probably not even get out of the car until there is another cruiser, im sure they wont be far off, i think they use them to follow people out to their secret spots, then once theryre there organize some sort of raid, who knows. all that means is they better stop shutting down drag strips and opening up more, especially out here in so cal, i mean irwindale is great, a little small but i love it, fontucky is a joke, and rarely ever open, we need a strip open every weekend, thats what we need

Something should be done about street racing, but they should build their own ******* cars instead of steeling them............ I mean confiscating them from others. Bastards.

they have been doing this in Indiana since at least 99. I don't like it any better than everyone on here does. But in all reality, they didn't spend any money on those cars, they were impounded. So the tax money complaint is kind of bogus, because they aren't buying a charger to paint up black and white. I think it's bogus, but I am not a big fan of street racing. I admit I have done it a few times, but never zipping in and out of traffic. In all honesty, that is what they are looking for.

I have to agree with the last few posts. Street racing is an entirely senseless and illegal thing to do. However, the police STEALING someone else's car just seems to cross a line with me. Tickets, jails time, criminal charges...that all makes sense. Stealing a car does not.
