Props to Gearhead Garage in Gilbert, AZ
My ls1 took and dump after 108K miles, and I took it to Gearhead Garage in Gilbert, AZ to see what we could do for engine swaps. Long story short the car is a DD and weekend cruiser so I needed something reliable and with a warranty, but a little faster.
So I had Matt at Gearhead install a few new items.
Crate LS6 from GM Performance Parts http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/En...1268&engCat=ls
LS7 Clutch with new master and slave.
Base LS6 tune (raise redline, etc)
Needless to say I am very happy with the work Matt put in for me, we got the engine late on a Wed and by Friday evening I was driving it again. I drove it all weekend and I am very happy with the final product. Matter a fact I just put a few car lengths on a 05 GTO last night with it . Mainly it feels just like the LS1 till I get to about 3.5,4k RPM then it pulls much harder. Once it’s fully broke in I'll get some dyno numbers posted up. Here are some pics...
