question about registration

my tags expire this month and my cars not paid off, so obviously the title isnt in my name. my question is - the current registration has my husbands name and then mine under it, it does not say AND, and it does not say OR, just his and mine under it, can i register it in my name or does he have to be there?

Is the loan in both your names? I think you might have to refinance the car & get his name off to register the car in your own name..Not 100% sure though..or call the bank to see how you can get his name off the loan

u can change it without his consent if it said and u and him would have to be there. it says or so u or him can change it. my parents been tru this before. and if the loan is in his name idk bout that one.

Not good, Sounds like you are stuck the way it is until you settle it in the Divorce..Or he can sign the title over to you?I have never been married so I don't know how that chit works..

Just renew the tags online and have them mail you a new reg number. The only way to get his name off is if the bank is OK with it.

This should be covered in your divorce decree. Pay it and keep records of the payment till it's final. You can't change title unless you forge his signature (did I say that out loud?).

im not asking to change the title, im asking to get it registered in my name alone...

i just talked to him on the phone and if he has to be there he says he will... hes adding me to the loan so i can take over payments, i never said he didnt own it, i said it was bought for me. period.

**** i need a lawyer.. this dude pisses me off...
