hell yeah im serious.... im speindin almost 1k a month on gas. i would get a bike but if i have to go to the store or anywhere with a friend i have to get the back in the truck. with a miata i can save $$$ in gas and still go places.

OP- I thought about picking one up, but decided to put the $$ into my SS to fix a few things. There are a crap load on craigslist for 1000-1500 if you look around. I've heard that the 1.6 gets better mpg than the 1.8. And the newer ones get about the same as our LS1's
Actually they have been de-throwned by the Nissan Versa as of this year

it would be a major sleeper car if you did that... 
there was a 4cly, 5speed, 96 Chevy S10 that sparked my interest not to long ago. was asking like $2750
they get like 32mpg on the freeway, swap the 3.73's out for 2.73's or 3.08's might be able to get 36-40 on the freeway.
But i feel you when gas hits $5 a gallon in July...... well ya my impala will be spending time in the garage.
