Just got laid off....
Just got laid off.... yup... I'm pulling in the parking lot at the post office to pick up my passport for my trip I'm taking in September when I get a phone call from HR saying that the company is downsizing and getting rid of my position...

i am very sorry to hear that wes. i have been on here less and less, i had many trips planned for this summer and such, all of which i wont be taking, not because of money, just because if there is ever a time to show loyalty dedication and trust worthyness at your place of work, now is the time,

yea thanks guys... so many people are getting laid off it's just crazy... My GF keeps coming home telling me how Starbucks keeps laying off all kinds of employees... She works for the corporate office here in the Phoenix branch and luckily has kept her job, but it's very stressfull not knowing when your last day could come up...
I had no clue this was gonna happen... I always did my job very well and figured I was safe. Just goes to show you...
My HR guy was very nice and hated even giving me the call, but said he'd help me out any way he could as far as getting me a new job by looking over my resume, passing it along to other companies, writing a letter of recommendation etc...
He did say I was eligible for unemployment, but I don't think you get your full paychecks worth do you? I was only at this job for part-time on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays... while i'm in school and all... And it was barely getting me by...

well, I actually lived in Temecula from 2000-2005, San Diego 2005-2007... then moved out here to AZ, and fully plan on moving back to SoCal once I graduate, seeing as that'll be the prime job market for my field...

wait til July 24th, there are going to be a fuckload of people getting laid off.
July 24th-Minimum wage goes from $5.15 to $6.55, might not matter to the bigshots on these boards but for the 7$/Hr bag boy like me it matters a lot..
