Might have gotten it clogged. Don't know. Maybe post in the fuel section. Any planned upgrades for the future? If so racetronix if not I bet you can pick up a used stock one for cheap.

That doesn't mean it is automatically bad. I have even heard brand new fuel pumps make some strange noises. Try changing the fuel filter and adding some Chevron fuel system cleaner or Seafoam into the fuel for the hell of it. Cheap reassurance for around $30 or so.

Sounds overkill. The stock fuel pump is capable of over 400whp. This is assuming COPSS is mostly stock.

Be prepared to cut up your car or do a lot of work. I would just cut the trap door.

And overkill? Fuel is very very important, I wouldn't want to worry about even coming remotely close to running out of pump.

I have the Racetronix kit if you're interested. Bought it a few months back during a sale, planning on needing it for nitrous, never got nitrous.

A Walbro 255lph pump is more than capable of supporting high horsepower motors, let alone a stock car. I've done the install (trap door method) on my 97 SS. It's simple, I'f its similar with your car, I'll show you how.

If you like hackjobs, then go ahead and cut the car. Everyone has their own preference.

And thanks for stating the obvious. If he does have plans for serious mods in the future, then it is always good to be prepared, but too much fuel in the mean time on a mostly stock is motor is not going to help his performance.

Fuel pressure is regulated by the fuel pump, actual fuel delivery is controlled by the ECU via pulse width of the injectors, so regardless of what pump you have, you will still be delivering the same amount of fuel to a stock engine, but the Walbro pump will be capable of delivering more fuel when fuel needs are increased.

Exactly. If he ever has thoughts about modding more then he won't have to worry about running out of pump for a long time. IMO better safe than sorry. Also I have seen the trap door done very cleanly. TunedbyTad did a really nice trap door cut out. Also Bowtierodder had a really nice trap door set up. Not all of them look like ****.
