Idle air control valve, or maybe your mafs damage when you cleaned it.

get some maf cleaner and do that just in case. Also unhook your battery and hook it back up and that will help your car relearn it's idle. It might take a couple of days to relearn. So i have heard.

you also want to make sure he did not over port it, like remove material where the throttle blade is when it is at rest. That would allow extra air to pass by and cause problems

I would check for a air/vacuum leak.

Did this just start after your converter was installed?

Anytime you install a aftermarket converter you want to have your tuner bump the idle from 550 to about 750RPM and play with the idle airflow settings... The smaller diameter converter will cause to car to surge due to less rotating resistance and the stock tune cannot compensate. My tuner did it for free when I had my converter installed as well as adjust the shift points so your not tagging the limiter on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift...

If it's not a converter tune issue I'd look for some way unmetered air is entering the intake path.... loose egr oring, bellows not all the way on, throttle body not fastened, etc

Whatever you used to clean the MAF might be messing with the car as well

If it happened after your TC install, then you'll need to get it tuned. I went through the same bullshit for months, tried everything already suggested, and a quick tune by Ryne at CMS fixed it.

he tuned it when the verter was installed and said he adjusted the idle. maybe ill go back over there and have him check the tune out. he also did the shift points and line pressure. the car feels awesome its just when you come to a stop it wants to die every now and then,

if this only happened right after you changed your tb i would say it almost has to be related to that. Your trans tune will not change all of a sudden.

For some reason, we don't know the complete story. From your initial post we have the current scenario, but what's the whole picture?

Had the same problem. Mostly on hot starts and when the engine was under load (low rpm turning mostly).

Ryne fixed it. I couldn't tell you what he did, but he fixed it.
