Default caliper bolt fell off on the freeway

well i was coming back from picking up my new puppy, and when i was in 6th, i tapped the brakes and had a loud hard knock come from the front drivers side. come to find out my top caliper bolt that holds the whole assembly to the spindle came out and the caliper was dragging onto my rim. i drove 20 miles on the freeway like this

anyone know where to get a replacement bolt besides the dealer? or anyone want to do me a favor and deliver a spare one to me? ill pay for gas & time

yeah i had that happen to me before, i took the other bolt off and brought it to one of the ma and pa hardware stores, they were able to match it up for me. Had to go around to all the major chains first before someone mentioned it to me. I know it was in pasadena somewhere if that helps, i think it was right off of lake just north of the 210.

That same **** happen to me as well!!! I was going to the LA auto show in November and when i was on the 5 (i think), i felt my brakes acting weird. I decided that i needed to exit to the nearest off-ramp but i was in the fast lane and it was about 6 car lanes wide. Luckily i made it to the exit and when i tried to exit i had to slam on the brakes and use my E-brake too. I made it to a gas station where i called my Insurance. Since it was Thanksgiving no places were open!!!!

The tow truck ended up dropping me off at a Pep Boys in North Hollywood. Where i had crack-heads and drunks coming up to me and asking me for money and asking me if my car was fast and other dumb questions. After that, i saw some dude slapping a girl across the street (ended up being a pimp and a prostitute) and then he saw me looking at what he was doing and ask me what i was looking at.

After that, i called my insurance and asked them if they could take me somewhere safer, and they said that they could only get me ONE tow per accident. So i ended up paying $140.00 out of my own money to get my car to Torrance. Heres a pic of it at the pep boys

you woulda saved her from an *** whooping too. positives for everybody, lol.

for the caliper bolt, its a metric bolt, probably a 10 or 12 on a 1 or 1.25. just pull the other one out there at the parts store. get one out of the stock bolts at your favorite parts store or hardware store. and use some loctite, lol

LOL, same thing happened to me in my black Camaro going to the Ontario Mills meet last year. Luckily I was able to fix it with the help of a few people there. Pull the other side's bolt off and take it down to a local bolt supply shop. They'll be able to match it and get you one for less than $1
