I was anticipating failure on this. Especially when everyone I knew was telling me that there is no way I would pass. Anyways.... the guy doing smog for me didn't care about my headers and thought that my NWtb was a FAST tb, which he said is carb approved. So I read up on all the smog checking threads prior to going and decided to take the drive the **** out of it route. All the way there I was just driving it hard and luckily was able to get on the smog dyno right away. I was pretty damn surprised... what a weight of the shoulders now!

Oh yeah thats right! I remember the big fiasco Either way 229 cam good heads and 450hp, and still passing smog with LTs and such. Bad freaking ***!

Thanks guys! And yes I am a she. It was nerve racking though... I didn't want to have to go searching for a place to give me a blind smog check.

What is a smog dyno?? Do they do the Smog's differently is So Cal?

down here they check emissions at idle then start the rollers and check it at 15mph and 35 mph If I recall correctly

The thing is not that they will fail the sniffer. Its the visual they won't even pass you to get to the sniffer. But she said visually the guy didn't really care and just put it on the sniffer.

I thought you were saying you never head of it passing on the actual sniffer. I have seen many cars with LTs pass the sniffer no problem.

yeah sometimes, but if you go to a test only center they only test and 25-35 mph, cruising which allows alot of larger cam cars pass, because of the known idle test
