Car scene around L.A.
Car scene around L.A. Well I am planning on moving from Ohio to Los Angeles to finish up college. My car will be comming with me, can't leave it behind. This will be a huge change for me since I have lived here all my life. I know around here the car scene is pretty good, but I have no clue what to expect out there. Right now I have 3 good tracks within an hour of me, I don't think that will be the case out there.

Your gonna love the weather, chicks...not to mention...A LOT meets/cruises/track events/etc...Irwindal is an 1/8th mile track...Fontana has a 1/4 mile track...and I am sure other guys will chime in...

Are you going to drive out...or fly out and ship your car...? I drove from Ohio to L.A. last year...wasn't that bad

There are not alot of 1/4 tracks out here anymore, there are a couple 1/8 tracks w/in driving distance though. There is a HUGE street scene though, though lately it has died off a bit (high gas prices, increased policing).
Fontana is the lone 1/4 mi track that does open track night.
Irwindale is 1/8 mi does open track night.

Fontana sucks unless its a PSCA day or some other series racing. Other than that track prep sucks. Irwindale however is a very good track with great track prep and night running so its not as hot.

sylmar is right around the corner from me... there are small get togethers every sunday wednesday thursday and fridays. and a small group of techers comes down to my house(RMS 
) on sundays and wrench. (we did a t-top conversion about 2weeks ago)
once a month there is a "big" meet just south of sylmar
and not to mention car clubs hosting bbq's, cruises, etc
only down fall is the good 1/4 mile track is a 2 hour drive

Hahaha no LSX "swap" here. All factory stuff. I actually have a hidden thing for F*** as well.
