Have never once felt it hard to go from one gear to another, whether up or down. Might wanna check fluid level/cleanliness, slave cylinder, master cylinder before suspecting the syncros. That's the order i would check them.

What year car? Stock clutch? Miles?

it's a 2000 ss with 91K miles i don't know what type of clutch it has my friends said it's not stock or else it would sink to the floor after about 3-4 rounds of beating on it... it goes fine from every other gear just can't get it to go from 6th to 5th goes in every other gear just fine

Might wanna :
Bleed the system
Replace slave/master

To see if it fixes the problem. If not I would suspect the trans.

BTW, my stocker would do just fine taking many beatings in a row, so don't let that be your way of determining if it has a stock clutch or not. If it is a stock clutch then you might wanna look into a replacement. The LS7 clutch is freaking fantastic for the money!! That's what i have now and it drives better than stock.

$449.99 from S.Dickey for the clutch/P. Plate/Flywheel. They are rated for 550hp. When i originally got mine they were 399. The price has gone up a bit since then. They ship fast as hell too.

And yes now that i think of it it would be all gears if it were the clutch.

I pick up a used trans for cheap and ship yours off to six speed inc. for a stage 1 rebuild.

You know I just want to throw this out there because its has happened to me but have you checked your shifter? The reason I ask is that I hasve a hurst with adjustable stops and once the stop decided to move and locked me out of first, third and fifth. Also the stock shifter has come loose on me causing weird stuff like you described.

Just something to check and I promise its cheaper and easier than a rebuild

He's talking about adjustable stops located at the base of the shifter, not all shifters have it. It basically looks like two bolts, one on top and one on the bottom that controls how far up and down the shifter can move.

Once this started on my m6, about 3k miles later I lost 5th completely. I went to six speeds inc. They do great work! I beat the hell out of it now with no problems.

^^^ Blip the throttle so that the engine speed and trans speed ore closer together as not to shock/put extra strain on the driveline. Something like this:
