Looking for job is pretty fking annoying and dont waste your time doing online applications unless you know someone inside the company...that is the only way those get looked at...you should try doing a **** load of craigslist and yahoo jobs search, and show up to the location of where they are hiring...sounds kinda funny but seriously its the only way lazy *** managers will ever consider looking at your application/resume...btw present yourself in a semi-professional attire, first impressions have a great influence on a managers decision, and dont forgett some kind of envolope or binder with a copy of your resume....

1. Change some of the info under each job from job duties (what you're listing now) to actual tangible/quantitative accomplishments. I would leave the first bullet point as job responsibilities, the rest should reflect performance.

Example
"Increased sales by 32% by (enter job function/duty/expectation)..."
"Increased annual revenue by $100k, a 41% increase."
"Increased the number of clients by 45% with no account attrition."
"Increased Billed Revenue by 65% between 2001-2003."
"Territory ranked highest in billed revenue out of 12 regions in the country." Remember, you could be the highest producing rep in an office with only 1 rep, let them know how good you are.
"Exceeded new account goals by 50%, which is double the expected result."
"Increased current customer revenue by 18% by selling upgrades to existing systems and products."

2. I would also tailor the objective to the particular job and company you're submitting the resume for.

Example
Big, successful company: To join the sales team of a financially established technology company that provides long-term professional growth opportunity and to exceed the goals set forth by my employer.
Small, growing company: To join the sales team of a growing technology company where my skill-set can assist the company in reaching it's growth goals.

3. Also, this is just my opinion, but a top sales rep at a company should have an award, otherwise I would say it's BS.

4. Be prepared for the obvious questions: "If you're the top rep at your company in only 6 months, why are you leaving?" And also address why you've had 3 jobs in less than 3 years of work. Briefly hit these in the third paragraph of your cover letter. If you aren't sending a cover letter, then start now.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:41 PM.
