I would say neither. Neither will get good MPG, and neither sound like they will last long. Two old GM V8's over 100k miles are on thier last legs. TPI is probably your best bet. I had a 91' Z28, 305, TPI. Sold it with 150k miles and still ran like a champ!

Uhhhhh...no they aren't.
Carbed V8s can last forever.

TBI engines can last forever too. My grandpa's 88 GMC Sierra has 478,000 miles on it. Original engine and not rebuilt. He doesn't drive it like a grandpa either.

Those are two of the shittiest choices for a daily driver you could make. My RX7 would be better than either.

I would go with the third gen 5.0 tpi just cuz they last FOREVER and get pretty good gas miliage. The monte carlos look sick as hell too, IDK I just like sportier cars.

Get a new Honda Fit.

Just think, it prolly has really neat little creature comforts.

Slam it with 13" rims (small rims are cheap $)

Go autocrossing with it on the weekends.

Looks decent and gets good gas milage.

4 doors.

lots of aftermarket goodies WILL be made for it.

Brand new car, and its cheap as fack. Very little to no maintenance for a long *** time.

But, I also drive a mazda and am a ricer.

I wonder how much a boosted K20 swap would cost in a fit?

No A/C OR HEATER
I wasnt aware Monte Carlo's came with 5.7L engines. Stock they were 305 LG4's (150 HP) or L69's (190 HP).

Of course I'll vote for the thirdgen. We have quite a nice thirdgen club in SoCal too, but you're a little far north being in Visalia.
