So, did you get it sorted out? I'm going on a two week trip to Sweden on Monday, so..

Thanks again for the offer. I just gave in and bought a cheap scanner. (not as cheap as the Harbor Freight ones, but whatever.) I scanned and cleared it. There were some history codes from when I Seafoamed it and a P0420. I've scanned and cleared the P0420 four or five times since then so I guess it's about time to go get my free cat from a dealer.

I just got that done. I used Seaside Pontiac & GMC on Miramar Rd. No problems at all getting them to do it.

A friend of mine had that problem and the dealer replaced the cats under warranty. The bastards charged him $100 for scanning it, and clearing the codes when the warranted cats were the only problem. I couldn't believe it.

sorry bud, have to be in the Military. I have not lived in Kane county in IL for over 5 years, but because I am in the military, I am essentially an IL resident till I get out of the Marine Corps and go live somewhere else.

A quick update:

It was the cat. I had the diagnostic done yesterday. It'll be replaced under warranty today.

I'm glad because it'd kill me to have to pay $99 for a diagnostic to tell me my o2 sensor is bad.

Edit: Got the car back. It was all free thanks to the warranty. They even gave the car a quick wash.

Now my SES light doesn't come on when I put the car in "ON". I'm concerned.

It should come on. You'll even fail smog in some states if it doesn't come on when you turn the car on.
