Default 1967 GTO Project Car

A guy I work with is going through a nasty divorce right now and rather than let his wife make off with most of his possessions, he is trying to get rid of some of his stuff ASAP for whatever he can get. He has a 1967 GTO with a #'s matching 400 motor and turbo 400 tranny. The only thing is that the car is completely apart right now because he has been in the process of a complete restoration for a while now, but never had the time it required. Now he is willing to sell it to me as is with all the pieces, complete interior, electrical system, glass, molding, etc., for $2,000. I know that classic cars are a good investment if they are authentic and the right models, and I think this car has real potential, but I'm just wondering if its worth all the trouble of such a big project.

that is a good price, but it all depends on the shape of the car and all the parts. do you think you can reassemble it, do you have all the tools or access to them. and most important, do you have a place to do this where you can lay out parts and work without being hassled. if you do decide to do this they are a nice car when finished, good luck.

Yes it's worth it. If you decide you dont want it you could resell and make a lil bit. Unless its totally trashed of course.

I'd take that deal in a heart beat. The frame alone is worth it to me.

This is one of those things I wish I could stumble on.
