Default 2001 SS with 121k Value?

I found a listing on Craigslist for an '01 Camaro SS with 121k on it. It is bone stock and looks to be in great shape. He also says he has maintenance records and recently replaced the clutch, and that it is mostly highway miles. He is asking $7200. Private party KBB is $7100 but that is the only reference point I have. Also, is the mileage too high to start modding from that point? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know much about it, but from what you have said I would say my top price I would give would be around 6000-6500... If it is a super clean car, might go higher.

Hard to verify the mileage if it really is highway. Of course its not too high to start modding. LS1 motors are awesome. Motor's can always be rebuilt and built up or just get a cheap used one. You could keep shopping around but seems like a good price. Always low ball them but not too much, then usually meet half way.

Personally I'm a fan of low mileage. I'm debating between a low mileage SS or very low mileage C5 coupe 3 years older.

I guess it comes down to a personal decision. Sorry to beat around the bush. $6k would be a steal.

Here is a link to the ad:

I figure if I could get a bone stock clean SS for 6k, I'd be more than happy with that.
I basically want a clean slate to work with, and being stock makes more more confident that it hasn't been beat on.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm gonna make him an offer and see what happens.

I agree about the post ref highway miles. How could you ever know? I believe $6,000 cash would let you walk away with the title. If you want to go a little higher then that is up to you after you see the car. I also am a fan of lower mileage cars. I would gladly pay a few thousand more for half the mileage if possible. Individual choice. Good luck!
