what is my LT1 engine worth? hi all, i have a question. I have an LT1 engine that has been freshened up with new piston rings new bearings new gaskets, new comp cam and head work. I cant remember the cam specs but its a Comp cam that is the biggest one you can put in these engines without changing the valve springs and torque converter, the heads have been ported and have a 3 angle valve job. I have never fired it up. my buddy who builds race engines built it for me so it shouldnt have any problems. I just have no clue what to ask for it. I dont want to ask to much and screw anybody but i dont wanna low ball myself either. can anyone give me a clue as to how much i should ask for it?

get some paper work to prove it and you might get your moneys worth...but where I'm at they can be had for 300-1000 (mileage ranges 60k-120k)...rebuilt 500-2500 (depending on build) strokers 800- 3500 (383-396 I hear of the 402 but haven't seen one personally) Race built LT1-LT4 2000-7000..
