Default Might buy this 99 Ws6, Need opinions.

This is a 99 Ws6 with a ls1 out of a c5. Fresh paint will be on the car before i buy it, still black.

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3144167940.html

Thoughts and opinions, I realize its been modded for awhile however the mods arent to extensive and the cam was kept mild for street use. He says it was built proffessionally and has all receipts, its never been on a dyno but the guy who built it said it should make 420 rwhp give or take.

Originally I was looking for a stock Ws6 with low miles but this popped up, I dont have the time to mod it myself right now anyway so this would be the best option if its a legit deal.

Thanks,
Eric

Bolt ons minus the pulley plus cam and a tune, 360 rwhp with the stalled auto.

It maybe 400 to the wheel and that's pushing it with an auto.

I had a slightly bigger cam, FAST90 , ported and milled 243's and same 3.73's in the 10 bolt with 3500 stall and I just managed 425 whp.

Im oblivously not gunna offer the guy 8500 cash, ill walk up with 7500 he has already said 7800 so if i can get it at that price regardless of the auto, it should be a steal.

if the auto is its downfall then dont buy it and hold out for a 6spd car if thats what you are really searching for. but it should run low 12s high 11s at a minimun at sea level

That's too much $$ IMO for a modded car like this with 130,000 miles on it. I don't care what has been done to it. You will be sinking good money into that CL car (This is what i think of CL cars ) iin no time at all and then what if you need to sell it? You will get hurt pretty bad in the wallet. Buy a better, closer to stock, lower mileage car for that $7,500 and slowly mod it to your liking. From what I read on here all the time, modding it yourself is extremely enjoyable and you aren't buying someone else's idea. Another negative about this car, as posted earlier, was your preference for a 6 speed. Never settle!!

Yes My preferance was for the 6spd. For playing around street wise.
But i was going to ask, is it possible to throw a slap shifter in this beast? Well i mean on a budget, of course.

And Its not 130,000 miles. well yes on the body but atleast the motor was upgraded ( Still LS1 oblivously just out of a c5 75k mi.) before the modifications and honestly the car is not that built, Bolt ons and mild cam. has much potential with the mileage in my eyes. and i plan on stopping at both shops where the car was built before purchasing the car.

If the guy doesn't have paperwork to confirm the mileage on the engine then don't even consider it. You would be surprised how many sellers will lie to you about things.

Edit: Just saw where you said he has all receipts. Its worth a look but at 6.5-7.5k imo

7500 for a decently built WS6 in good condition with that mileage is still good deal.
