Salvage Title WS6
#41
I went and looked at it a couple days ago. It was repaired right but I think I'm going to pass on it. If I had a second car to daily drive, then I would be all over it. Definitely was one of the most aggressive, noisy street cars I've ever heard in person.

Well the extreme loudness is easily fixed by ditching the SLP's for something quieter. Or getting a catted y pipe.
How would a big cam like the MS4 fair on cold days? Would be driven in the winter since it would be my only car. (We had like 4 days last year where there was snow on the ground)

Yeah he isn't in a rush to sell. I went and looked at it and drove it and it's a pretty clean car. Mechanically wise it sounds like it's in fantastic shape and has pretty low miles. But there's some dings and scratches in the paint, underside of rear bumper could use a sand down and repaint, and other little stuff like that.

I have seen clean looking ws6's with a good title sell for around this price. What you have to ask yourself is "Do I plan on keeping this for a long time and not selling it". If you do then all that matters is that you like the car and you are happy with it. If you are not sure and might possible sell it in the future, well then you will have to find the right buyer to get some of your money back. These cars are getting older and 80% of the ones I see for sale have well over 100k, and not many people want to spend alot on them unless its a rare color or special edition so they do not go for much. A salvaged title will always go for less, because no matter how good its fixed it has the "SALVAGE" stamp on it and thats what turns alot of people away. I am in texas and I can send you links of cars on cl that people are asking 7k -8k mark with clean titles

Honestly I buy salvage title cars all the time but I put them on a lift and do a complete inspection to make sure I'm not getting a bonds bucket. My wife's car is an 08 Sportage EX with 46k miles I bought for 2500 from an auction and spent 600 bucks on new struts and getting an alignment. Insurance companies salvage cars all the time for the dumbest stuff. As long as you do your due diligence then you should be fine. On a side note though you can use the Salvage title in your favor. I bought an extremely heavily modified WS6 with 88k miles for 7k. Sold the motor, trans, rear, suspension, wheels, and Suncoast hood and made 9500 back. Dropped a 5.3, used trans and a stock 10 bolt and got 7500 for the car. If you have cash you can probably make it happen for much cheaper. If I were you I would wear him down and offer somewhere in the 4000ish range. Just me though I'm a dick when it comes to buying a car.
