Default 2001 TransAM WS6

Clean interior, exterior needs a bit of TLC, small chips/scratches definitely not perfect condition but shes in good shape. 70k on body, 2k on crate LS1 and about 5k on a new crate t56 all installed at the dealership. 18" black c5-z06 wheels with 295s on the rear. Motor is bone stock sans headers and x pipe all the way out back. Ideas on what she would be worth?

If this is your car I believe it really helps that you had the engine, etc.. done by the dealership. That eliminates most of the worries about 'who did the work'. On the flip side why did this car need so much with just 70k miles?? Really need more details. Is the title clear? Carfax OK?

motor spun a rod bearing and tranny had 2 syncros going out. clean title, its been wrecked once by a drunk driver(was sitting outside of my house) minimal damage just replaced the front bumper plastic. as far as carfax i have no idea, i don't want to spend $40 to check. i'm the owner(2nd) and have owned the car since it had 20k on it. need the money more than the car for the most part otherwise dont really need to sell it, i put maybe 500 miles a year on it now.

My friend sold his salvage titled 1998 Camaro Z28 for $4000 after the damage was fixed by insurance. It had maybe 70k-90k miles on it, its been a while.

Clean title is good and the one accident shouldn't hurt much. This car has both positive and negative things about it. The huge positives are the engine and tranny. The negative is that the car was obviously 'driven'. Potential buyers could be concerned about the rest of the car. I would certainly start in the $11,000+ area and see if you get some calls. I think you will get them with that new crate LS1. If not, slowly lower the price until you hit that right price point. GLWS!!

I just sold my 98 regular transam but with GM ws6 hood for 8,500. It was a 6 speed with 110k on it - cammed etc.

I think with yours being an 01 and with it having only 70 k on it plus the documented new motor and trans that your right around 9500 to 10k realistically. A lot of people might shy away from the "new engine" thing but in reality it's a positive. The prices for these things seem to be all over (sold a 2000 Z28 in immaculate condition with 99k on it 2 months ago for 7k and it took me 4 weeks to sell it! - car in my sig). Being that it's a transam more people want it I think, being that it's a true WS6 and the excellent mileage etc. I'd list it at 11 and take 9,500.... again realistically I think that's what you can expect.

I've got it listed locally for 11.5 and have had a few offers on it. Quite a few tire kickers around here though which kinda sucks, but until it sells it will just sit in the garage heh. I'm hoping to get 11-11.5 in the end, not because i need to sell the car, but because i think thats what it's worth. just gotta find that other person who thinks its worth that too.

Blue99Firebird, If I may be critical for a moment. Those photos are awful! If you want serious inquiries and top $$ for your car, you need to represent it properly. Take some quality photos and get rid of the car wash stuff. Detail it and take those impressive photos that car buyers want to see. You also are stressing too much negativity in the ad. The honesty is upfront and very refreshing but all this can be discussed in person or on the phone. Leave out the bad synchro stuff and the reason for the new engine. Simply state "car has new expensive engine" and leave it at that. Take out the car was driven aspect as well. No one wants to spend $11,000 for a car described in that fashion. Also, CL is not a good venue for selling IMO. Spend $35 or so for an Autotrader ad www.autotrader.com to open up the potential for other buyers. I sell and have sold many cars for my elderly car club members and have had good success. Definitely be honest but you need interest in the car first. Talking to people in person or even on the phone lets you express how you feel about the car and it's value. Get buyer's attention first. Best of luck!

constructive criticism is always appreciated. the only reason i had those photos taken were for a person who wanted more photos of the car, it was dirty so i figured why not...they aren't great but they would get the basic idea across. much appreciated though i'll definitely take that into consideration

Happy to assist. If you do take those updated photos, please let us know. I'd like to see them. I'm sure others would too.
