Default Totalled!! Fair price for LS1 powertrain with 75K miles?

My 99 T/A got totalled (rear and front end).
75k original miles, everything works perfect, 100% stock.
I'm buying it back for $2500.
A guy says he'll pay around $2200 for the car with basically nothing but the complete powertrain. I'm pretty new to the LS1 game, but I think that $2200 is a little on the very low side, no?
How much is my powertrain worth, both top dollar and "I need to get this sold within a month or two"???

2200 is way freaking low. like I said in your main thread 3500 to 4000 is the going rate of a full drop out.

Ls1s alone go here in houston for for 2400- 3500. Add the trans and front accesories, wiring harness, ecu and it only adds goes up from there.

This. Part the rest of the interior and good body panels out.

^ this, or buy a v6 fourth gen and swap her out with your powertrain for an ls sleeper. Plus while you have the engine out you have an opportunity for easily installing some nice power adders. ... cam intake heads whatever your budget can handle. Then drop it all in a Firebird and have a nice sleeping monster. I'd put a full quiet exhaust with an electric exhaust cutout in just for when some mustang driving pony boy wants to rev his 5.slow at you at a light. Then you can let him hear that engine scream while he admires your beehive taillights.

Yeah, unfortunetly I don't have the time or tools to get too crazy (2 kids and I work 60+ a week...). Unless I can find a nice-looking T/A to swap into, I'm just planning to sell it off. I'd remove the interior, wheels, my e-cutout, hood, lights, and t-tops, and doors (anything else??), and then sell the rest for what sounds like something in the $3500-$4000 range? Dang, that just sounds so high... (but that's why I started the thread, $2500 sounded like a good price to me initially...)
