99 Trans Am - 229,000 miles
I need to sell my '99 trans am within the next couple weeks and wanted to get some input on the price I was going to ask for it. I was hoping to get $3000 minimum from it, but was going to post it for $3900. It's mostly stock except for the 2800 stall Circle D converter.
The Good:
The paint is in pretty good shape and it runs great. It still gets 18-22mpg average, 24-25mpg on all highway road trips. I replaced all the gaskets but the head gaskets a year ago so it doesn't leak. I got a "race" rebuild on the transmission about 40k miles ago and threw in a 2800 stall to soften that 1-2 shift a little. The T-Tops don't leak. The AC still works great and there's a shitload of recently replaced parts on it including pretty much the entire cooling system and the entire upper control arms.
The Bad:
The front seat is torn pretty bad, but there's nothing poking you in the back or in the ***. The traction control motor broke a while back and i just unplugged it, but it has the "TCS off" light on the dash constantly. The power antenna is broke so it just stays up. It'll probably need tires in the next year. The drivers side sun visor is in pretty bad shape and that cheap carpet cover for the T-Top well is gone. Oh yea and it has 229,000 miles
Is it reasonable to expect at least $3,000 out of this car? I was thinking of replacing the TCS motor ($55 on ebay), the sunvisor ($125, wtf?), and even recovering the seats for $500, but wasn't sure if it was worth putting any money in a car I'm selling for $3000.
