Assuming it's in nice 40K mile condition, I'd figure the price range at $14K to $16K. We've been seeing some '02's with 10K to 14K miles fetching $18K or so. $3K less for 30K extra mileage is approx $15K. Car could have some significant flaws flaws holding it back or seller is just "stuck" on $16K. 3 months is not really all that long a time to get one of these sold, especially if asking fairly strong money. And with those 3 months being the typically weak months of October-December, it's no surprise at all. Interest on this car might not pick up one bit until March. If it's worthy in all respects try to work a deal with the seller if they want it gone now. Not knowing anything else about the car $15K seems fair, and $14K a potential deal. Dealer owned? Automatics with 40K miles have been in the $13.0K - $14.5K range.

This 3 owner red one with 34K miles reached $13,700 last week but short of reserve. It's up again this week at $13,400 with a couple days to go. For this time of year maybe $14K is top dollar in Texas. Interesting history being in Florida until 2012 with 20K miles. Then sent to Texas where the next owner put on 13K miles in 18 months...and sold it. Current owner may have had this <1 yr. There's a Dallas area used car dealer in the mix and it's possible they owned the car for those 18 months. Car has the orig shifter handle installed. One small dash crack.

Private owner. Cracked door panels in the usual areas.

Great information! I'll see what kind of deal he's ready to make before it warms up! Thank you for your apparent well-versed opinion!

As a point of reference, there was a two owner, 2001 NBM A4 vert near me with 12K miles. They had that for sale for 2 years starting at $20K and working their way down to $17,500 to get it sold in 2013. Unfortunately, I had already purchased a car by the time they took that final $1500 price drop. Even today it would be hard to find a similar car for $17,500-$18,000.

Here's a PA dealer offering a 41K mile 2002 vert for $13,900.
