Default 1999 Trans Am M6

It was originally for sale for $7k but found out thru text that the driver seat don't move forward or back, the stereo isn't connected, some cosmetics issues and 3rd gear synchronizer is starting to wear. He down played it saying it wasn't a big deal but when I called Lethal Performance they said they would need to do a full tranny rebuild which would be just under $1400. I was able to get him to reduce the price to $5500 but even still I'm not sure if it's worth the price. Help please!

Sounds like a bag worms, especially with the seller citing "no big deal." If that was true why didn't THEY fix this "trivial" items and pocket the difference on resale? Maybe you can get a tranny rebuilt if you know someone good and can deliver the tranny to them (ie lower and replace it yourself). Even then that seems like a low price. What are the miles? For a $5.5K '99 Trans Am M6 with nothing really wrong I'd expect no more than 100K miles. If the car has paint issues figure potentially thousands more. Have you fully inspected/test driven the car? What about the engine, rear end, brakes, suspension, fluids, heat/AC, tires, etc? How many owners? I wouldn't trust the seller and would keep looking. Maybe they'll get desperate and come back at you for $5K.

Help us help you by giving us all the pertinent details of the car: title history, maintenance history, interior/exterior condition, how are the tires and brakes, etc..

118K miles. No, I haven't been able to test it or see it in person. I was hoping to drive down this weekend, (Austin to San Antonio) but the whole thing seemed fishy. Found his add on CL and he in the post he says everything is in perfect working order other than a few cosmetic issues so when I started texting he let me know. I didn't even get to ask about the amount of owners since I was stuck on the tranny issues. Pretty sure I'm going to be moving away from this. Good news is I found a pretty good deal on a '77 Corvette, hoping to go check it out this weekend. Slow as hell compared to an LS1 but man are they pretty.
