99 miata decisions Hi i am new to this site and need opinions. I have a 99 miata with blown engine due to no oil. My mechanic says about 3500 to fix it. I dont want to scrap it. How much should i sell it for? It has 180000 miles and small tear in the top and minor damage on driver side. I have someone who wants to buy it but neither one of us know a fair price.

Not sure many people can help you here but I'm around so many cars I can just offer this. Miatas are so common I can't imagine the body bringing a lot with those high miles. I'd say about $1,000. As a ref point, this seller (below link) on ebay has a car similar to yours but it's running OK. He'd probably take around $2,000 cash I bet. I hope I didn't disappoint you. Good luck!

Thank u so much for replying. I cant bear to scrap it so I have put it up for sale as it is. I also viewed the link u sent me. Interesting that there was a engine recall the seller posted. Wonder where to find info about that? Anyway Im hoping for the best. Really loved that car.

It's worth a shot to sell it. There are people that like to race those cars and perhaps just need a body for an engine or drivetrain. Good luck w/ sale!
