That link is a photo of a truck. I don't see a 99 HOSS in your photo buckets.

A regular 1999 SS with 31K miles and M6 is a $11,500-$12,000 car imo. Now add in the HO premium. That certainly varies from person to person. I'd figure it at 10% minimum and 20% max. I've seen some people that claim 25%. 15-20% seems about right. Other variables to fine tune the value include # of owners, maintenance/fluids/wearables up to date, driven in rain/snow or not, etc. Overall I'd say $14K-$15K. But some people can get pretty intense over trying to find a clean M6 HOSS. I figure it can't be worth more than a 10K-15K mile black/red 2002 SS M6 which is around $16K

It wasn't supposed to be a pic of the car.

I have been offered $17,000 for the car and I have seen others with similar options with a tan interior and 20k miles listed for $22,900. $11,500-$12,000 is even low for a higher mile Non Hugger Non SS car. Everyone has their own idea of what something is worth, and entitled to their opinion, but it comes down to supply and demand. Honestly, if there were a ton of these made for multiple model years, you would find a bunch for sale.

You didn't read my post thoroughly. That price range above is for a non-HO car. Multiply that by 10-20% (some say 25%) as I mentioned above. That range would the HOSS from $12,650-$15,000. SOM doesn't even carry more than a 25% premium. Your received offer of $17K is a 40% premium. I would take that if real money is behind it. For $17K I could buy a sub-10K mile 2002 SS M6 with CME/blackwing. It's funny how many "offers" from well-intentioned people disappear when it's time to pony up the cash.

Sellers can "ask" anything they want. 75%-80% of asking prices for any WS6/SS are just crazy high. They make the sellers feel good. And fortunately, those sellers who really want to sell their cars, think those are starting prices they should use too. It's those cars within the lower 0-20% of asking prices that actually end up selling. And the price range I listed above for a non-HO SS M6 car with 31K miles is what they sell for ($11,500-$12,000). My 2 owner, red '99 SS M6 17K miles with a nice list of SLP options is worth at most $13K. Subtract $1K or more from there to get what a 31K mile car is worth. Maybe I'm under-estimating the % premium of HO. But if the 2001/2002 SS/WS6 SOM's don't bring a 40% premium, why should a similarly scarce paint '99 HO? It's not like the '99 HOSS is worth the value of a '99 WS6 M6 anniv car. And I don't know if a 31K mile '99 anniv WS6 one of those can fetch much over $20K.

This link from Sept 2015 shows a '99 HOSS/white interior, M6 with 46K miles listed for $15,900/OBO. It sold in under 2 weeks and had considerable interest. Maybe brought the asking price but more likely $15K-$15,500. Though higher mileage than yours, it came well optioned with chrome wheels, auburn, Bilstein suspension, SS grille, etc. The previous owner put in a fresh clutch, rebuilt differential, rear end, tires, etc. First owner modded the engine with cam/port/polish, headers, suspension upgrades, white gauge faces. Seems a well cared for car. Maybe the mods might turn off the purists but this seemed like a sharp HOSS with plenty of appeal. If it were bone stock I don't think it would have brought much more.

Very cool car but you better grab that $17k if it's real. An offer is quite different than cash in hand. That's incredible really good $$ for that car.
I enjoy unusual colored cars but premiums can only go so high. I would not pay $17k personally or recommend to my car collector neighbor even if 100% stock, one owner, and garage kept. I would if it was a 10,000 - 15,000 miles ride provided the above conditions were met. 31k miles is getting up there for 'collectors' and we haven't even talked about the history of the car, and the exhaust isn't everyone's cup of tea either. As Firebrian stated, you can get some really sweet LS1 rides in the upper teens. $20k gets you pristine very low mileage examples.
It's up to you but I'd seriously think of grabbing that $17k if it's an honest offer. Good luck whatever you decide.

That dealer seems to specialize in Vettes of all years. Has several Camaro's too. This option-less 2002 Z28 A4 with 1K miles is listed for $17,500. Could say that's strong with original MSRP at around $22K-$23K. Canadian car with a bit more than expected surface rust on undercarriage components for that kind of mileage.

Nothing wrong with waiting if one has years to wait and don't really don't need the money or the storage space. Some of the low mileage cars I list on WIW have been on the market for 2-3 years, including dealer owned cars. 1994 Z28 A4 with 8K miles for $15K would normally be insane money unless it was optioned 1 of 1, heavily modified, or possibly the white anniversary car. But, if your in Australia I guess your options are limited. Except for special cars, very few heavily produced LT1's still survive with under 10K miles. You could almost call them rare, yet the LS1's bring more money.

One shouldn't have any problem finding an 8K mile 1998-2002 Z28 A4 for $15K. Most owners would be tickled pink to get that kind of money considering the price guides list them around $8K to $9K! I bought my one owner '99 SS with 12K miles for $12K four years ago off of Ebay.
