Default 2000 A4 camaro

I bought this Camaro with the tranny out and was going to put NOS on it and play but with only 83,000 I hate to tear it up.I put new tires on it(stock wheels)It has headers, flowmaster exhaust, rebuilt tranny, and it is getting painted right now.The dash and interior is good. What is it worth?

The value is heavily influenced by the quality of the re-paint. Are you changing the color? Was the car adequately prepped to do a color change properly? (That is fully disassembled so all door jams and over spray areas are recolored.) Is it being repainted a factory color? How reputable is the shop doing the work? What is their warranty like? Is it transferable? Was there significant rust repair required? Is the car complete?

Also, condition of the interior being "good" is relative. I consider the interior to be good if there are only a couple of blemishes, plastic scratches, or issues that need to be addressed. I've got an interior that's actually clean, but the center console has a couple scratches on the side below the seat line, my sun visors are disintegrating, and my driver seat shows some wear. The steering wheel needs to be recovered. Other wise, it looks as close to showroom new as you are likely to find. I'd consider this fair to good condition. Poor condition would include gross carpet, fucked up upholstery, scratched plastics, cracked dash bezels, etc. Excellent condition I would say wouldn't have anything more than one or possibly two issues described above on the low side and looks brand new on the upper end of the spectrum with no perceivable flaws, wear or damage.

Hard to tell at this point, we'd need to see some interior/exterior pics once the repaint is done.

With 83k miles though, there is no reason not to modify it further if that's what you want. There is nothing special about a 2000 Camaro with 83k and non-factory paint, so feel free to mod away.

I bought a Camaro because I didn't want to cut up a good transam and they were a lot cheaper also.I already have a 99 ws6 and wasn't going to ruin it.Everybody said that a Camaro wouldn't bring a 1/3 of what a transam would but I still thought it would bring enough to finish it and if not I will use the motor for a LS swap on a 70 442 I have. The car is a 1 owner, garage kept car.Has never been smoked in and the dash was replaced a couple years ago.The interior is perfect and the only reason for a paint job is 3 door dings on the quarter. It will be painted the original color[black]with a stripe on it.The car has no rust and has been block sanded so it would be straighter than the factory had it.The guy painted my 442 and it is like looking in a mirror so the body would be very nice. The title is clear.Sounds like it may get tore apart before I sink anymore money in it.I cant believe the difference in price of a Camaro and a transam.Thanks.

Not sure who "everybody" is, but they are wrong. You can definitely get more than just 33% of the value of a Trans Am for a base V8 Camaro, all else being equal. Regardless, even with fresh paint, at 83k miles neither would be a high dollar car within the realm of 4th gens.

I agree. I generally price a Trans Am and SS at about the same level - for identical condition and model year. The Z28 is probably 10-15% less than the Trans Am/SS for an identical conditioned car with similar options. The WS6 tends to bring 10% more than the TA/SS. General rules of thumb...not fixed in stone.
