2000 SS M6 Higher Mileage
2000 SS M6 Higher Mileage I'm looking to buy soon with a budget of up to $11k or so. I found a local SS but higher mileage today for a lot lower than I was going to pay so am somewhat interested. Is the $8k asking price fair for 150k miles or should I be able to talk the price down?

Not an awful price but I have seen sub 100k cars sell for that $8 to 9k range I would think this is more of a $6500 to $7500 car at best and do think if you came in low your could prob make a deal at $7k. Any camaro ss you buy for $7k is most likely going to have its issues so I would just say expect for things to surface as it is a 150k mile car.

I personally would pay maybe 6k for that car, I know the one I have is auto, I found a extremely clean 2000 ss with 56k miles for 7,200 lol. Check out F-Body empire, plenty of cars being sold on there daily with way better deals then most craigslist adds. I found my deal through the Fbody empire facebook page, I would check it out.
Thanks guys. Yeah probably going to pass on that one then and go for something lower mileage. I will check out F-body empire. I've been looking for more places to find cars for sale and would be willing to pay shipping if the price is low enough on the car.

Fwiw, I own a 1999 SS M6 with 19K miles and value it around $12K. You can find some pretty sweet 20K-40K mile SS's in the $8K-$10K range if you keep your eyes open.
The best bang for the buck is in 1998-2000's with 20K-45K miles. The price guides just don't give the low mileage enough of a premium.

Thanks for the perspective. Man, I would love a low maintenance low mile SS M6 for $10k or under. The thing that sucks is I live in MN and it seems like it's not the easiest to find one locally. I'm not really looking into making a drive/trailering something home, so may have to consider shipping/having someone check out a car from afar.
