Does anyone out there have a similar Gen 4 SS in Sebring Silver Metallic, and if so, what year did you sell and for how much? I'm leaning towards selling now as my priorities have shifted, but looking at the typical comps on Craigslist, Marketplace, etc. aren't really comparable. She (as I understand now) isn't a 30'th Anniversary Edition, but is super rare as I haven't been able to find another listed for sale in several years, and she's in nearly perfect condition. I'll attach some more pics. I'm curious what this community would place the listing price at... (Thanks in advance for the input)Silver 1997 Camaro SS Coupe
LT1 5.7L V8 305 horsepower
Automatic transmission
Sebring Silver Metallic exterior with subtle silver racing stripes, and grey cloth interior
30th Anniversary embroidery on seats
56,000 miles (Will increase as I take her out briefly every week or so)
Aftermarket Sony touchscreen stereo and speakers with Apple CarPlay and backup camera.
A local friend of mine bought a '96 SS hardtop, 6-speed, leather, #2 show condition with just 11k miles for $16k less than two years ago. It had several original SLP options and no modifications of any kind. That was a pretty good deal, and he might be able to sell it for a $2-4,000 more to just the right buyer, but there's just not nearly as much demand for the LT1 examples (vs. LS1). Given the higher mileage and optional content of yours, I would think that something around $15k would be as good as it gets, maybe less depending on your region (accounting for local cost of living and local popularity of these cars). I've seen some really nice LT1 Z28s of comparable mileage and condition have a hard time moving for prices in the $8,500-10,000 range so yours, even being an SS car, might have trouble in the mid-teens.
Red and black are typically the most common colors for SS 4th gens, but there were still enough silver cars built that it doesn't really qualify for a "color rarity" premium. The Teal colored LT1 SSs were much more rare and *might* bring a bit more to the right buyer, but silver in general was not a rare color for 4th gens in the 1995+ years.
I don't like mods, especially an electronics related one, but low teens ($12 -$14k) all day IMO for that really clean example. Of course the title has to be clean. Rarity is NOT a factor. GLWS!!
The car is now for sale if anyone in this thread, or someone you know is interested. The listing can be found on Cars.com, Autotrader, and Facebook Marketplace in Oregon.
I think this is the correct listing below. Certainly a fair asking price that should draw some attention and not scare buyers away. If you are rigid and firm with that price though, I think it may be high. My post from last May still seems about right. Good luck with the sale. Per CompNine.com, there were 317 Silver SS coupes built in '97, 213 were M6s, 104 A4s. Barely triple digits for this example.
I'm not 100% positive on this, but there appears to be no special RPO for 30th interior appointments (embroidery, etc.), I believe all '97 Camaros got the same 30th interior treatment (could be limited to trim level too, I suppose). There's a pretty good chance RPM WS6 knows for sure on my speculation.
Thank you both for the input and information. It's pretty wild that a nearly mint condition 30 year old Camaro, of which only 104 of its style were made (If that's true), is only worth about what a high mileage 5 year old Subaru Outback is. Kinda makes me want to keep it, take it off the velvet pillow, and make it my daily driver!
I know most of you guys are way more into this stuff than I am, but I just found this and according to: clarkes96ss.cz28.com/SSFAQ.html#build97 this is the breakdown for Camaro production in 1997. If I'm reading it right, looks like my coup is 1 of only 27 like it made... Is this right?

The "rarity" numbers really only matter if that which makes it so rare is something especially desirable, such as a 1LE option or a color that's in high demand/low supply, etc. When the rarity comes from relatively insignificant options or options that aren't especially desirable (such as the auto trans), then it's a pretty meaningless figure in terms of value (still cool from a factory production oddity perspective though).
I think $15k is really going to be the ceiling for this one, and even that might be tough to get because it has the lesser desirable transmission and it's an LT1 model (LS1s are, all else equal, more desirable). As you mentioned, it might be better to just keep it. These are fun cars, and it's hard to find anything that's more fun and equally nice or nicer for anything close to the kind of money they are worth at this point.

Yes, even the V6 Camaros for '97 got the "30th" logo on the seats, even if they were cloth seats. But the special houndstooth seats were, I think, only available with the RPO Z4C 30th package (white paint & wheels, orange stripes, etc.) as a prerequisite.
The numbers really don't mean much except to the owner. Maybe some folks will enjoy having a 'rare' car that no one else has but it does not reflect value or a price. Maybe one day??
As an example, Dodge used to offer this service for new owners of Challengers (the newer version, not the classics). I have a 1 of 1 Challenger!!! I think it's ultra cool that no one has the same exact car as mine but it means ZIP as far as pricing. Maybe in 50 years when I'm long gone. If really nice with ultra low miles, perhaps....
