Is this a good price for my first LS1?
I'm speaking with a gentleman that I met at a local car show last night. He has his 1999 Z28 Camaro (A4, leather, TTops, power windows, doors, Monsoon, etc.) for sale. Car is in great condition, always garaged, never seen winters, and has 51K miles. Car is completely bone stock other than a drop in K&N. He always puts Shell 93 premium and uses Mobil 1 synthetic blend every 3K.
The guy is asking $10,000, but said he'd probably let it go for $9,500. Would you keep shopping (it really is a buyer's market now), or would you snap on this LS1?
My thoughts are that it's a pretty good deal, but I would most likely do basic bolt on's (headers, exhaust, intake, TB, etc.) I'm thinking that it might be cheaper to find a car for a grand or two more that already has these mods. However, part of me is saying that it might be hard to find one that is unmolested in such good shape.
Thoughts?
How good of an indicator is KBB with regard to LS1's ? I'd think it would be pretty much dead on for a Honda Accord, but LS1's might command a little bit more of a premium over the posted resale value?

You know, 500 Bucks is not a huge difference either. If it's very clean, go for it.
Clean Camaros are always hard to find. Most I have seen have been beat on and have had body work.
I got my 98 z28 with a a4 for 7800 Bucks about a year ago with 65k. It was all stock and was driven by a hippie dude, looks like it has about 30k.
It just depends on what you think.
