I was just checking Tire Rack and according to their specs, you can run a 275/40-17 tire on a 17x11 wheel - so you could go with the 17x11's and 315 tires, but still have the option of running 275's all the way around if you decide 315's are too much hassle.

Wow thanks so much for all the feedback, I have came to decide im definetly going with the TTII's with 17x11 in the back equipped with the Nitto 555R tires.. but in the front should i got 17x9 or 17x9.5? Any pros or cons to that?

Also, when you guys say "you have to roll the fenders" what exactly does that mean? Is that when you hit the wheel wells with a hammer?

i would let a professional do it.. although my friend did it hisself.... if not, when you launch hard and hook, you will cut your tire

exactly what is said.. you actually take part of the fender and roll/tuck it under so it isnt pretruding out and will cut your tire.. search for it.. should be a write up somewhere on here about it.. or pics

they roll the fenders so that bigger tires cant fit and not rub/cut with the fender.

its basically just pushing the fender a little more out

No cons with the 9.5 fronts and it puts you in the middle if you want 275 aspect tires. As for the Torq Thrust II wheels and tires, you will be spending more than $1200 if you buy new.

If you feel or look at the edge of your fender well you will see a lip that runs 90 degrees from the side of the car. This lip contacts the outside edge of your tire when the wheel travels up into the wheel well. On maximum width tires, even though correctly centered, this lip will cut into the tread and sidewall of the tire. Rolling bends this lip up and the inner edge away from the tire. I know of no one who has actually bulged the fender or quarter panel out. Like someone said, do a search on "fender roller" or "fender rolling" to get more information.

I don't know if you just added a sig describing your car or that I missed it earlier but since you have a T/A you have a little more room in the fender wells. This means you can go with a wider tire and not have to deal with rolling the lip. If you buy +50 offset (rear) wheels you will tuck your wheels in close to the chassis. If you don't get 315 aspect tires for the rear you can buy +38 mm offset wheels (rear). The Camaros have less room and cannot use the +38 mm offset with 315s without the edge of tire protruding past the edge of the panel.

Be sure to read the STICKIES for the Wheels & Tires category here on LS1TECH. Almost everything you need to understand about tire size vs wheel width and offset is explained.

I rented Tony's (Nine Ball) heat gun and fender roller from him and did mine and another members in an evening. It's not hard to do, you just have to have some patience.

What about your yearly cost for tires? I figure since nitto 555R's don't last too long... you gotta be spending a pretty penny each year to replace them...

Also 9.5 or 9 in the front?

If you choose +50mm offset you will need to lift the axle when you put the wheels on. The axle jounce will make contact with the tire or wheel before the wheel's inner hub face bottoms on the axle's wheel mount plate. That's really not much of a problem and the benefit is you are sure to have good clearance on the outside. However, you can run +38mm and take the 315 tire to the outer limit and not have any issue with the inside. But don't take my word for it; read the sticky at the top of this category in the forum. The half hour you spend there is priceless.

Id go 9.5 all around with 275s or 285s myself so not to sacrifice performance. Though having 275s or bigger in the front tends to wander. It all comes down to looks or performance, what do you want.

So stop making up your mind. Just look, think then make up your mind. I have your same problem. I usually beat my head against the wall if I start making up my mind too soon. Try that.

315's look so good on these cars and do help with traction on the street. I can't tell you how many times people have complimented me in my tires. "Holy ****, how big are those tires?!"

Good pics! I have what have and the rear tire looks exactly placed like yours, almost exactly even with the outside. Now, is your car slightly lowered and did you roll the rear quarters? And finally, is that a +50 offset on the rear and +56 on the front? Thanks.
