I liked my 11's out back with BFG Drag Radials but the fact of having to buy new rear tires every year from the centers wearing out from street use didn't impress me much. Even with the shitty Sumitomo's I would only get about 12 months out of a rear set. The plus side was the ability to stick hard in corners, I could carve some of these mountain roads while pushing my car. Something I'd be a little more wary with 275's out back.

i have 315's in the nitto drag radial, and they do much better on the street than my 275 goodyears. I have had them for a year and a half on tt2's 17x11 in the back. car is lowered and has no rubbing issues or other problems. Ill always have a 315 back there if i can. traction is there when i want it and i can still break them loose whenever i want.
seriously though....315's are night and day over 275's.
only reason I would consider not getting wider tires was if I was worried about breaking parts.
with that said I used to get the best sideways with my 275's
