Default Greg Weld vs Weld Prostars

My project is quickly nearing completion and am trying to decide on a wheel package. I had the Strange front and rear drag brake package installed on the car and want to know if the Greg Weld 92 Dragstars and Weld Prostars fit without any grinding. I would prefer the Greg Weld rims due to cost, but want to make sure no grinding is required. The car is a 2001 Z28 with a S60 rear.

Please advise,

CoopZ06

Greg Weld fronts fit stock calipars with no grinding, but Greg Weld rears hardly seem to fit any calipars. A guy said even with his Wilwoods they wouldnt clear.

Weld Prostars need a little grinding with stock LS1 calipars, but should be fine with NO grinding with Strange brakes.

Plus, it looks good.

Not much...

Rears:
2 15x10 7.5 backspace weld prostars
2 275/60/15 m/t drag radials

200.00 on craigslist

Fronts:
2 15x3.5 greg weld dragstars
2 off brand front skinnys (free)

218.00 through my work

So 418.00 total, tires and all.

I love the looks of the Greg Weld wheels, does anyone have all 4 corners with the Greg Welds?

Default Greg Weld Vs Prostars

After numerous discussions with my builder and this forum I decided to go with the Steet Lite wheels from Billet Specialities and the Strange front and rear drag brake kit. I like the look of the Street Lite's better than the Greg Weld or Prostars and will help save some weight. I spoke with Jason (Owner of Billet Specialities) and he was great to work with and have been assured the Street Lite's will be a direct bolt-on with the Strange drag brake kit. Once the car is complete, I will post some pictures of the build.

Thanks,

CoopZ06

You're gonna have to grind some.
