Default $50 for tire patch?

So a 275/50z/17 is a low profile difficult wheel? Back home it would cost no more than $15-20

I worked at a place a few years back... $10 no matter what the tire. $50 is definitely pretty steep.

You are talking a patch right, not a plug?

They have to take the tire off the rim, grind the rubber around the punctures, apply the glue, apply the patch, remount the tire and balance if needed. That all can take up to 45 minutes. If they do it the right way it could cost that much.

A plug can be done in 5 minutes and I would never put one in any car I own.

i had to have 3 patches on 2 different tires in a 3 day period a few years ago in AZ and they were 275/40/17 and pep boys charged something like $10-$15 per tire IIRC. i went there for a leak in my right rear and they found a nail and patched it but at the same time found a nail with a very slow leak in my left front and did that one. 2 days later my right rear was leaking again and i thought the patch didnt seal or something and it turned out that i had gotten another nail. i think i had driven past a construction site on my way to work and most likely thats where i picked them up (i never left the main road but you know how those construction trucks love to drop ****)

At my work we don't charge for any flat on any tire even if they aren't our tires. If you have to pay I wouldn't expect to pay more than 20$ for that period.

damn thats alot.. i work at discount tire part time and any flat repair is FREE! Thats also a marketing standpoint though because any repair that cant be done say a nail or screw is too close to the shoulder the tire is not repairable and theyll need a new tire

If it takes you 45 minutes to fix a tire then maybe you should practice a little more. I could fix a 24" flat in about 10-15 minutes, and only charge them around 20 bucks. Usually this is how we charge.

??-18" 12.00
19"-22" 15.00
23"-?? 20.00

50.00 is WAY too much, unless you have 20 holes and need a new valve stem too!

This is Virginia for you guys. I mean no offense to those of you who were born and raised here, but these folks are 100% stupid as **** with EVERYTHING.

One nail, one patch, will run me at least $24.99 plus tax so far.
